If you decide to transfer a domain from one registrar company to another, you’ll need to go through several security procedures. One of them is obtaining a special EPP authorization code from the present domain name registrar – on the condition that you are the registrant, since the code is sent to the owner's email and no one else can see it. You have to provide this code to the new domain registrar, or else they won’t be able to begin the domain name transfer process. The EPP authentication codes are case-sensitive and may include digits or special characters such as dots or commas, which can be easily mistyped, so make sure you copy/paste the right code. As an additional safety measure, the transfer authorization code for a domain name may be reset on a regular basis. Some registrar companies refer to this code as a domain password, an Auth key or a domain secret as well.

EPP Transfer Protection in Cloud Hosting

You can obtain the EPP transfer authorization code for any domain that you’ve registered with us with only a couple of mouse clicks from the same Hepsia Control Panel that you will use to administer your cloud hosting account. Once you go to the Registered Domains section, you’ll see all your domains conveniently displayed in alphabetical order. In case a certain TLD extension supports transfers between registrar companies with an EPP transfer code, you will notice an EPP button next to the respective domain name. If you click on that button, the code will be emailed to the email associated with the Registrant contact for the domain name in question. If you want, you can edit the contact information, including the email, without needing to leave this Control Panel section, in case the currently listed email is not valid any longer.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting

You can effortlessly get the transfer authentication code for any domain registered under a semi-dedicated server account if you’d like to transfer it away. This can be achieved through the exact same Control Panel, via which you manage your account, so you won’t have to sign in and out of different interfaces. All you will have to do is visit the domain management section of the Control Panel and click on the EPP button for the domain name that you want to transfer, provided that its extension supports transfers with a code. Our system emails all codes automatically to the domain registrant’s email listed in the domain’s WHOIS record, so in case the address that is currently entered is obsolete, you can update it with several mouse clicks without even leaving the domain management section of the Control Panel.
